Tuesday 3/15 2:00 pm est “Introduction to Elan Underglaze Transfers”
In this live video Leigh Anne Thompson will talk about the basics of transfer application and the different ways they can be applied and used. Additionally, she will teach guest ceramic artist John Martin how to apply transfers for the first time and answer all of his and your questions that no matter your experience level will benefit from.
Wednesday 3/16 2:00 pm est “Applying Elan Underglaze Transfers to Mugs”
In this live video we will explain and demonstrate how to apply underglaze tissue transfers to a curved mug form and give tips and tricks along the way. We will also demonstrate a few different ways to apply them to avoid smudges, lifting paper, overlap, and incomplete application. Finally, instruction will be provided for applying transfers to the mug handle as well.
Thursday 3/17 2:00 pm est “Elan Transfers and GR Forms Handbuilding Transfer Project”
Join us for a live team up with GR Forms live from NCECA demonstrating how to make a handbuilt project with an Elan transfer decorated slab and a GR Form.
Friday 3/18 2:00 pm est “Combining Elan Underglaze Transfers and Color”
In this live video we will show you multiple ways to combine underglaze transfers with various color options including layering with commercial underglazes, using dried underglaze as watercolor, using celadon glazes on top, and applying underglaze directly to the transfer before application.
Saturday 3/19 2:00 pm est “Applying and Layering Elan Overglaze Decals”
In this live video we will show you how to apply overglaze decals from start to finish on a white glazed plate. We will discuss firing temperatures, layering them with transfers and gold lusters, and troubleshooting common firing issues.
